ABOUT US

The American Orchid Society (AOS) Pacific South (PAC South) Judging Region serves Southern California, Southern Nevada and Arizona by providing Orchid Judging at regularly scheduled meetings and also at orchid shows and orchid society meetings (“outreach” judgings) upon request.

Our team of over 55 members are dedicated volunteers who serve the membership and the orchid-growing public through participation in the Society's judging system. Each judge has made a sincere, long-term commitment, and gives much of his or her personal time and resources. AOS Judges are not compensated for their services or travel to various judging events.

Orchid Judging

The American Orchid Society's mission is to promote and support the passion for orchids through education, conservation, and research, and a very important component of this is promoting appreciation and knowledge of orchids by the public.

The judging process is designed to recognize quality orchid flowers, exceptional achievements in orchid cultivation, and significant advancements in breeding, hybridization, and artistic design. It also seeks to increase public awareness of the vast variety and diversity of orchid species found all over the world.
